Please find attached some photos of our visit last month to your "Anzac Cafe" following the trail of my great-great-uncle William Edward Hogan (Serial # 6780 - killed Sept 30th 1917) of 5th Division / 8th Brigade / 32nd Battalion, A.I.F. His name is on panel 23 of the Menin Gate as per one of these pictures.

 

I have since accessed Uncle Will's service record from the Australian military archives and will be doing some more research on his battalion. At some stage we will return to Polygon Wood with hopefully some more information and spend more time exploring the area.

 

Thankyou very much for the copy of the DVD that you secretly gave to Linda when we visited. That was a nice surprise! Also thanks again for your hospitality, your help and the guided tour you took us on during that rainy June evening Hope the fund raising is going well.
